The damage sheet handed over at the desk is often blank or rushed, and cars returned after hours are inspected without you. If a damage bill arrives, it is up to you to show the damage was already there.

Questions
Do I need to download an app?
No. RPA runs in your phone’s browser (Safari, Chrome). You can add it to your home screen to open it like an app.
Does the rental company get the report?
Yes. You pick the company, RPA suggests its customer-service address when it knows it, you confirm it, and the report goes to the company and to you.
Does it count as proof?
It is strong evidence: server time, GPS position, a copy sent to the company at pickup, and a seal anyone can check. It is not a guarantee of the outcome; every dispute is different.
What if I have no signal?
You can film without signal: the check stays saved on your phone and you send it as soon as you are back online. Try to send it before leaving the rental desk.
